Coming Home

Today we woke up excited, as we knew we'd be heading home later in the afternoon. Our stay in the hospital was a special time - our little family getting to know each other in the bubble world of other people caring for our basic needs - but we were definitely ready to get out into the real world! Addison got her final check-off from the pediatrician (she's perfect), Elizabeth got the sign off from her doctor (she's feeling great) and Mara, Mike and Eliana came by to pay a visit. We filled out paperwork, packed up our things and asked some last minute questions to our favorite nurse, then were escorted out into the bright, hot day. Addison fit perfectly into her little carseat and slept the entire ride home. We even made a quick side trip to Babies R Us! It feels great to be back in our own environment and we're just looking forward to settling in with our new baby girl. She's been eating every few hours and sleeping in her Pak' N Play - an exciting first afternoon at home!
