More pics from California - Addison on her first plane ride

Thanks for sending my camera back Dad! Here are some more shots of our California whirwind vacation. First, our flight out. As you can see, Addison slept through most of it, either on daddy's lap or the seat between us. Luckily it was a pretty empty flight so no one claimed it!

We're back!

Well, we're back from our amazing trip to California and we couldn't have had a better time. Addison was a champ on the flights both ways and was very flexible with all the traveling in general. She loved the white noise and motion of the plane, so was quiet and calm (or sleeping) during the flights. The flight attendants fawned over her and the people around us hardly knew a baby was there! She was also great on the long car rides from Santa Barbara to Palm Springs and back. She slept through every meal we ate out and was really receptive to the tons of people she met. She loved the ocean and the salt air - she slept like a dream during our stay at the beach house! Addison had many firsts during this trip: first plane ride, first giggle (both with Pam and Allan, doing the same thing - touching her feet to her cheeks while she was laying down), first time seeing the ocean, first dunk underwater in the pool, first time bringing her hands together, first time grasping on to and holding a rattle and first time sleeping 12 hours throught the night! We saw so many friends and relatives, DJ played some great golf, we relaxed, surfed, layed in the sun, had perfect weather, ate great food, enjoyed a spa day...it was fantastic. We left our camera in Santa Barbara, so will post some more pictures soon. Until then, here are a few we do have from the beah house. You can see that Addison enjoyed her sleep very much.

Labor Day Weekend

The end of summer is here (big sigh) and Addison is already 2 months old! Here are a few pictures from Cedar Lake Beach and a couple of other shots from the long weekend. She is getting bigger and cuter every day. We go to the pediatrician on Wednesday and are curious as to how much she weighs now. Stay tuned for that news....

Good morning and good night!

Here's a little taste of what goes on in the morning and at night in the world of Addison at the Barat household!





Addison wakes up as happy as can be and we spend time playing and talking with her. It's especially cute when Callie gets involved in the mix. Typically wherever we are Callie is sure to be close by.

When bedtime rolls around, it's a bath (or just a wipedown), a story or two and lots of rocking, holding and bouncing. Addison seems to be getting sleepy earlier in the evening now so we try to watch her cues and get her to bed timely. We can't WAIT for when she sleeps a 12 hour stretch through the night, which we hear happens around 3 months or so.

Weekend fun

This past weekend was a mellow and enjoyable weekend all together - DJ didn't even play golf despite the perfect "fall-like" weather! Grandma and Grandpa Barat came over to babysit on Friday night while DJ and I got together for drinks and dinner with friends. Everything went well, though we did miss Addison and were happy to see her sleeping soundly when we got home.

Our friends Aimee and Jamie were in town from Orange County so Natalie and Jeff hosted a BBQ at their loft on Saturday.

Busy day!

Yesterday Addison went to Target corporate to meet the Finance HR team. It was the last team meeting before the team changes quite a bit so we were glad to make the rounds there. We visited with many people, all of whom thought Addison and her chubby cheeks were very cute! She was pretty good for a while, got fussy for a bit then fell fast asleep.

Later that evening Ryan, Heidi, Olivia and Kendra came over to say hello. The girls were very excited to meet the baby and hold and kiss her. Addison was all smiles for everyone.....until she got hungry and tired
